GETTING HERE...

San Francisco is served by three airports: San Francisco International, Oakland International, and San Jose International.

The San Francisco and Oakland airports are both served by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), which makes it really easy to get from the airport to the hotel. Find information about fares and schedules here. The Hyatt Regency is right next to the Embarcadero BART station, and we mean right next to it—the hotel entrance and the BART station entrance are about 20 feet apart.

There are fixed-price shuttle services from the Oakland and San Francisco airports that are usually significantly less that a taxi or a limousine service. This is one of many websites that will give you more information: Bay Area Shuttles.

A cab ride from Oakland to your hotel in San Francisco will cost about $75 with tip; from the San Francisco airport into downtown will cost about $50. This all, of course, depends on traffic. San Francisco is the home of some major traffic jams depending upon the time of day.

If you ask us, we think BART or a fixed-price shuttle service is the best way to get from the airport to the Hyatt Regency. We really don't recommend flying into San Jose unless you get a great fare and are planning to rent a car. There's just no easy way to get from San Jose to San Francisco unless you drive.

Thinking about renting a car while you're here? Think again. The streets of San Francisco are crowded, and the parking laws are not user-friendly; on the other hand, public transportation is inexpensive, easy, and safe. But if you just can't resist, contact us and we'll give you information on the most economical ways to rent cars and drive in the Bay Area.

HOTEL...

hotel Our hotel was the four-diamond Hyatt Regency San Francisco, located at 5 Embarcado Center, San Francisco 94111. The Hyatt's meeting and banquet space is terrific, and was a great setting for our programs and special events.
